LOOKING for the LIGHT: Encouragement for today!

God pushes you to the edge

Hi!
I hope this brings a little encouragement your way today. Life is hard so it’s best to trust God with all the details of your life.

Please see the tab on my blog labeled “Relationship with God” for more information on how to have a relationship with God as well. It’s not about being religious — and a bunch of dos and don’ts.

Make it a great day!

God Bless You!

The 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud lady (pictured below), moved to a nursing home today. Even though she is legally blind, she is fully dressed each morning by eight o’clock with her hair fashionably coifed and makeup perfectly applied. Her husband of 70 years recently passed away, making the move to the nursing home necessary.
After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, she smiled sweetly when told her room was ready. As she maneuvered her walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of her tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on her window. “I love it,” she stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy. “Mrs. Jones, you haven’t seen the room …. just wait.” “That doesn’t have anything to do with it,” she replied. “Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn’t depend on how the furniture is arranged, it’s how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it. It’s a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do.
Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open I’ll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I’ve stored away, just for this time in my life.” She went on to explain, “Old age is like a bank account, you withdraw from what you’ve put in. So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories. Thank you for your part in filling my memory bank. I am still depositing.”
And with a smile, she said: “Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred: Forgive.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less.
6. I’ll add a little more: Trust God.

Billy Graham’s 95th Birthday Message ~ Nov 7 & 8

Billy Graham’s 95th Birthday Message

My Hope with Billy Graham
A special program is being televised in a few days entitled MY HOPE.  Billy Graham will be celebrating his 95th birthday in November and is celebrating in a special way by giving what is most likely a final message which he has been preparing for some time.  He hopes that Christians will invite non-believers into their home as they view the program and then share their own salvation message with them.

The program will be televised as follows:

November 7th @ 8:00pm Trinity Broadcast Network

November 7th @ 10:00pm Fox Cable News

November 8th @ 7:00pm Channel 5

All About Hope ~ #3

All About HOPE … All About HOPE … All About HOPE … All About HOPE

HOPE: To wait for eagerly. ~(Merriam –Webster online dictionary)

(((((())))))
July 31: HOPE doesn’t worry about any roadblocks ahead but instead remains positive and full of can-do power!
August 1: HOPE lifts you up and replaces those scared feelings deep inside with this thought: It’s Possible!
August 2: HOPE can shine in your heart even when there’s just peanut butter and jelly in the cupboard!
August 3: HOPE allows you to live victoriously and with joy until the answers come.
August 4: When doubts filled my mind, your comfort (GOD) gave me renewed HOPE and cheer. Psalm 94:19
August 5: HOPE helps you look and feel your best every day.
August 6: HOPE always believes the best.

~ More about my book Fresh Hope …. Cleveland.

The messages above are some of the Messages of HOPE I have been leaving on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter every day since July 10, 2013.

Today it’s the day after Labor Day and as I read all of these Messages of HOPE, I feel all of them capture the essence of HOPE. Some of them speak in everyday language, but all of them talk about lifting you up out of your circumstances and into a place — a state of mind called HOPE.

What do you put your HOPE in ~ What’s your anchor in difficult times? Leave a comment. I’d love to know!

Make it a good day!

God Bless You!

Nanci
