Brown Rice + Veggies with Ginger Sauce: NEVER EAT These Foods

~ More great resources for you just like in my book Fresh Hope … Cleveland.

I listened to a very interesting show yesterday. I thought I share with you the foods you should NEVER EAT.  I’ll add more to this sometime soon. Check out your diet and see what you need to change.

God Bless You!

Heard a doctor speak today about a list of foods you should NEVER EAT! Let me share a few things with you so you too are more informed. Here goes!

1. Processed Meats: Pepperoni, Salami, Bacon, Sausage, Hotdogs, Luncheon Meat, Corn dogs. Ham ~ I hate to break it to you but all contain sodium nitrates  which cause cancer. Sodium nitrates are used as a preservative but your body can’t metabolize it. If you eat enough of these things, nitrates can cause cancer.

2. Artificial sweeteners ~ Aspartame, Sweet-n-low, Splenda and the like are  carcinogenic. Being synthetically made in the laboratory, this means they can and will lead to cancer. Try rice syrup, agave nectar, honey, or Steva, a natural sweetener.

3. Fructose (white sugar) ~ Eating this is never a good idea in fact cancer cells just love this stuff! This always causes diabetes which can lead to other more serious things like stroke especially when combined with high blood pressure.

4. Margarine ~ Margarine is filled with trans fats which causes cancer + heart disease. Instead of margarine, use Organic Butter  — yes, organic butter with olive oil. You can mix it up yourself because I don’t know of any organic products. But whatever you do, just don’t use Canola Oil.

5. Canola Oil: One of the biggest problems with highly processed and refined vegetable oils such as corn oil, soybean oil, and yes, even canola oil, is that the polyunsaturated component of the oil is highly unstable under heat, light, and pressure, and this heavily oxidizes the polyunsaturates which increases free radicals in your body. Therefore the end result of all of this refining and processing are oils that are highly inflammatory in your body when you ingest them, potentially contributing to heart disease, weight gain, and other degenerative diseases.

The reason extra virgin olive oil is good for you is that it is cold pressed without the use of heat and solvents to aid extraction. Extra virgin olive oil also contains important antioxidants that help protect the stability of the oil.

6. Shellfish  — Shrimp, Tuna (both canned and fresh caught tuna are not good for you due to mercury levels), Lobster, Scallops, and Crab are all shellfish. They just aren’t good for you because the water in our oceans are filled with oil from chemical spills and ions are constantly being released from Japan’s nuclear reactors all of which make our water unsafe.

7. Genetically Modified Foods (GMOs) ~ Many foods fall into this category and you won’t even know that they are genetically produced. This means they are made in the laboratory and the packing won’t tell you a thing about how they are grown. See this link for more:

8. Aluminum Salts (and fluoride) ~

  • Links have been made between Alzheimer’s Disease and large deposits of aluminum in the brain, which researchers suggest can form after long-term use of aluminum cooking utensils.
  • Aluminum is also considered a poison that can be life-threatening if found in large quantities in the body.

I’ll have more to share with you a bit later on.

Furniture Banks All Across the US: Donations + Place to Shop

~ More great resources like you’ll find in my book Fresh Hope … Cleveland
Today, here’s a way to help others + it’s also a great place to shop!
Thank you  … God Bless You!
Here’s  a Great Resource: Did You Know?

Furniture banks can be found in every major US city. Today I’m introducing you to The Cleveland Furniture Bank (CFB). CFB recently relocated to Southland Shopping Center in Middleburg Heights.  The move allowed them to consolidate their operations under one roof, expand their thrift store, and provide more space for needy clients to see and select from a greater array of furniture as they rebuild their lives.

Started in 2006,  the Cleveland Furniture Bank depends on donations of furniture and other items to help those in need.  Home pick-ups are available for a small fee in all of Cuyahoga County, most of Lake and Geauga counties, northern Summit and Medina counties and eastern Lorain County. Another aspect of the Cleveland Furniture Bank is their thrift store that offers a great selection of new and gently used furniture, clothing, household goods, and much more. Come in and visit or shop Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Closed on Sundays. Donations are accepted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Cleveland Furniture Bank is located at 13360 Smith Rd  in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, 44130. It’s probably best to call them before coming with your donations — (216) 459-2265, Ext. 101.
Not from Cleveland? Google Your city + furniture bank ~ most cities have something of this nature to help you s-t-r-e-t-c-h your dollars or help you get on your feet! Nearly every major city I checked from Seattle to Dallas, to Atlanta and Tampa right up the east coast to Portland, Maine, you’ll find a furniture bank to help those who at this particular time in their life — need a little extra help and care.  If you are from a smaller town and can’t locate one nearby, call a few of your local churches and I’m sure you’ll find just want you need.
May you or a friend be blessed by this information today!

All About HOPE

All About HOPE … All About HOPE … All About HOPE … All About HOPE … All About HOPE

HOPE: To wait for eagerly. ~(Merriam –Webster online dictionary)

·        HOPE is the sweet song in your heart when there is no reason for one!
·        HOPE is always in fashion and looks good with whatever you wear!
·        HOPE never gives up!
·        We put our HOPE in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. Psalm 33:20
·        Wearing an attitude of HOPE always makes you look much more attractive!
·        Be the HOPE that someone else needs ~ reach out today and help someone.
·        Having HOPE will give you courage. Job 11:18

If you’re new to my blog, just pull up a comfortable chair and you’ll learn more about some of the things in my book Fresh Hope … Cleveland. Today you’ll learn a little more about the theme of the book: HOPE.

Above you’ll find the second set of HOPEful messages I’ve posted on my Facebook page and on the book’s page — Fresh Hope Cleveland. I started posting “Today’s Message of HOPE on July 10 and every day since. I’ve written enough HOPEful messages to post one every day through September 30. So look for them and come and “LIKE” Fresh Hope Cleveland on Facebook!

Today I just want to touch on one of these messages. It’s my favorite and is very near and dear to my heart.

~ Be the HOPE that someone else needs ~ reach out today and help someone.

We live in a society that is so consumed with getting ahead and we’ve learned to think too much about ourselves. But did you know that doing things for others can actually work to bring good things to your life and well as the dear person you choose to help? It’s true. It’s called the Law of Reciprocity. It’s a spiritual principle. It means what you give out, you get back in return. For example, if you help someone as in Today’s Message of Hope, someone will help you in return. It won’t necessarily come from the same person, but you will receive help in return.

Here’s another benefit of helping someone: It makes you feel good about yourself! Helping another person brings those great feelings you feel deep in your heart. It’s so rewarding to help someone else! Reach out today to someone. Be someone’s HOPE, you’ll make your life better as well!

Enjoy today ~ it’s the best time to do something good for your life!

God Bless You!
