Getting through Tough Times ~ Biblical parallels

~ More on Nanci’s new book Fresh Hope … Cleveland: Resources to Help You Navigate through Unsettled Times.

For those of you who are just joining this blog series, let me tell you that this particular series goes along really well with the ideas and help my book provides. Today I decided to add the subtitle of my book to allow you to drink in the full flavor of everything that’s in my book ~ RESOURCES. And these RESOURCES and wellness ideas will help you cope and give you the hope you need to get through these difficult times we are ALL living in.

Two Sides to the Cross

How are you getting through your tough times? How are you coping or managing your concerns? As we go through tough times, it’s important to again look at Jesus. Certainly He was not thrilled with the idea of being put on the cross and then being crucified. However, what He looked to and focused on was the resurrection. On the other side of the cross was the victory even though both sides of the cross held God’s purpose for Him.

Victory Lies the Other Side of Your Cross

Think of your own life. No, the things you are going through probably don’t thrill you and they most likely are filled with pain and difficulty. But, on the other side lies the answers to your challenges. This side of your cross comes after surrendering, after humbling yourself, after obeying God, and after letting God do what He needs to do in you in His way—not yours! That is where the victory is ~ that’s your resurrection day! Hurray!

Next week:  Victory Learns to Endure ~ Victory means going through Good Friday all the way until Sunday

But for now, I’ll let you think about this for you or someone you know (or even a stranger):

“Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.” –Mother Teresa (about Love Notes ~ accessed August 13, 2011.)

Have a great week!

God Bless You!

Getting through Tough Times ~ Crucifixion style

~ More on Nanci’s new book Fresh Hope … Cleveland.

Even in the midst of the things you are experiencing today — whether they make sense to you or not, like Good Friday, God will work it out to good.  As we parallel your life with Good Friday, remember, Good Friday was a day that brought all of mankind good. And so it will be for you!

Your Tough Times ~ Like Good Friday and the Crucifixion:

1. Will bring about a GOOD END RESULT in the appointed time!

2. No ~ the going “through” stages are not easy, but they are there to build character, perseverance, mental toughness, and fill your heart with compassion.

3. Whatever path God has for you and your life, the lessons you are supposed to learn will come from the tough times you face. They are in your life for a reason. I frequently tell people in order to get to Point D where they want to be, you will need to go through Points A, B, and C! Why? In those circumstances lie the experiences that you need in order to mature and grow. You just can’t miss those life experiences because they are valuable and needed for where you are  going — even if you must go through suffering and pain like Jesus did. But if you endure, have a good attitude, and don’t give up, you’ll see God’s plan of provision show up.

God’s always up to something. Trust Him to provide the good outcome to your tough times today.

~ Problems may only be avoided by exercising good judgment.
Good judgment may only be gained
by experiencing life’s problems ~  – Jim Stovall

God Bless You!

Book News: After a conversation with the production department yesterday, it seems the revisions will not be done in time for the Christmas deadline. Therefore, the book will be out in January.

Getting through Tough Times ~ Add Your Comments

~ More on Nanci J. Gravill’s new book ~ Fresh Hope … Cleveland.

How do you get through the tough times in your life? What things have you done to cope? Continuing the discussion today on Getting through Tough Times.

I think the most important thing about getting through tough times is realizing that they don’t last ~ there will be an end to your difficulties and pain when the time is right. And even more than that, learning what you are supposed to learn during those times is PRICELESS.

Next week I’ll share getting through tough times from the perspective of the cruxification (as in Christ was crucified) ~ how does that parallel with your life?

Add Your Comments:

What’s your best recipe for getting through your challenges and landing successfully on the other side? Please leave your thoughts here. What you share just may encourage and  inspire someone else.

I’ll leave you with this thought:

“Never make the mistake of limiting the visions of your future by the narrow experience of your past.” ~ Dr. Lewis E. Losoncy (psychologist)

Thank you!

God Bless You!
