School will be starting next week for most kids. This will certainly bring a change to everyone’s current routine. Some great information came across my desk this week. I know all of you mom’s and dad’s will want to read these great tips for your family written by Dr. Don Colbert.

Dr. Don Colbert is an advocate of healthy eating and good nutrition. He is the medical director of the Divine Health Wellness Center located in Longwood, Florida. On Dr. Don Colbert’s website you will find the following under the “Articles” tab and then under “Healthy Tips.” Here’s some of what you will find on Dr. Don’s site.

1. Handwashing ~ Why it’s important to wash your hands + more!

2. Healthy at School ~ Keeping your kids healthy and when to keep them home from school if their not.

3. Good Ideas for Packing Lunches ~ what’s healthy, what’s not!

4. Walking to School ~ walking or biking + programs in your community.

5. Ten benefits of Family Dinners (make sure you read this one!) A report from the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University found 10 benefits of family dinnners.
