You’ll also learn some great places to shop and how you can s-t-r-e-t-c-h your dollars! Wherever you are dealing with in life, think of it as an adventure!

 2.  Speak positive words repeatedly over your life and others. Then watch the dynamics change in your life as good things come your way! You will reap exactly what you sow!

Relationship — Not Religion

~Coming Next Week~

You Tell Me: Which is the Best Photo (of me) For My New Web Site!

~More about Nanci J. Gravill’s new book “Fresh Hope … Cleveland”

Last week I said:

Just because you go to church does that make you a Christian? If you sat all day in a car, would that make you a car?”  Here’s the truth of the matter: God wants to have a relationship with you.

There’s a difference between religion and having a relationship with God. Religion says you must work your way to heaven by doing lots of good deeds. Then you’re a good person. Neither one of those ideas can change your life. And those beliefs won’t get you to heaven. What changes your life and you is knowing Jesus as your Savior. Then God’s power will work through you and His Word will begin to renew your mind. That means you will live and do things beyond your own abilities. Further, Christianity is the only religion where God reaches down to man in his plight. He sees our sinful nature and our brokenness. God knew we needed a savior. Thankfully, Jesus paid the penalty for our sins on the cross and therefore we can live a life connected to God just as He intended for us to be.

Today, all you have to do is ask Jesus to come into your heart. Tell Him you are sorry for the wrong things you have done, realize He died for those sins on the cross, and tell Him you now want to live for God not yourself. It’s that simple.

You are now forgiven of all the things of the past and you know where you will spend eternity — in Heaven! Each day when you are aware of it, confess anything you do wrong (sins) then ask for the filling of the Holy Spirit. That’s where the power comes from to live the Christian life (confessing and asking continually for the filling of the Holy Spirit). Read your Bible daily and God will speak to you impressing things upon your heart from His Word. Little by little God will reshape your heart and you’ll be a brand new person. It‘s also so amazing that when you live your life for God He gives you the desires of your heart.

God is faithful ~ trust Him with your life today!

Have a great week!

God Bless You!

“Fresh Hope” Today

~More about Nanci J. Gravill’s new book “Fresh Hope … Cleveland”

~ Coming August 24 ~

You Tell Me: Which is the Best Photo For My New Web Site?

… bringing you a little “Fresh Hope” Today!

Today I’m sharing some ideas with you that will help you in the midst of this economy.

One idea I share is the Home Heating Assistance Program (HEAP). See #3 below for more information — Cleveland and other cities too. It’s time to apply now!

1.~If you’ve lost your job, stick to daily routines and exercise – per Dr. Oz because money problems can add stress to your life.

2.~ Ask yourself these three questions when you need to know what to do:

 Three Filters

~ Is It Legal?

~ Can you afford it?

~ What would Jesus do?

Even though the cold weather is several months away, it’s time now to apply for the  HOME HEATING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (HEAP) here in Ohio.

Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) can help with your home heating bill. Apply in late August for the coming winter season.  The application will ask for employment and financial information.  Contact the Ohio Department of Development at 1-800-282-0880 or see your local library for an application.

Visit for income information to see if you qualify.

4. ~If there is any great secret of success in life, it lies in the ability to put yourself in the other person’s place and to see things from his point of view – as well as your own. –Henry Ford

5. ~I remind myself every morning: Nothing I say this day will teach me  anything. So if I’m going to learn, I must do it by listening. Good advice from Larry King. Listening is an important part of good communication.

~ I find it such a wonderful thing that God listens to us when we pray and when we call out His name for help.

~Do you know Jesus? He’s waiting to have a relationship with you! Just because you go to church does not make you a Christian. If you sat all day in a car, would that make you a car? You must have a relationship with God through Christ. I’ll explain more next week.

~ Coming August 24 ~

A Little Wisdom

~More about Nanci J. Gravill’s new book “Fresh Hope … Cleveland”

My book “Fresh Hope … Cleveland” brings you a little wisdom at a time when you may need it most. Here are a few tidbits that may bring help and encouragement to you today.

~Coming Soon~

You Tell Me: Which is the best Photo (of me) for my new Web site!

Things don’t happen to you, THEY HAPPEN FOR YOU . . .

Listen to your life. What is it telling you today? Is it possible that a diagnosis of cancer or loosing your job can teach you new ways to live? Every experience in life is an opportunity to learn something.  The good and the bad events in your life can show you what’s really important. I’m always reminded that gifts or blessings in life don’t always come to us in beautifully wrapped packages. Sometimes they come when you loose a job, when you have illness, or when you loose someone you love. Your struggle in those tough times cause you to grow and learn more about yourself. But most of all, your attitude and the way you think makes a great difference in how you perceive the things that happen. As the title of this segment indicates, Things Happen for You! And I’m quite convinced that God brings those things to you whatever they are — for your ultimate good!

How You Label Something Determines How You Will Respond

In “Fresh Hope … Cleveland.” I tell you that you can frame your circumstances in a different way. For example, I can say something is “horrible” or I can call it an “adventure.” The way you label something will make a big difference in how you respond to it.

Speak Positive Words Over Your Life

If you can change your words, you can change your life. That was my message on my “Wall” on Facebook this past week. That’s because words are containers that hold emotions and power. Therefore, you want to speak positive and healing words over your life and those of your friends. This is especially true when you are experiencing many difficulties. In fact, you should speak twice as many positive things over your life when things are tough.

Anything IS POSSIBLE Even in a Challenging Economy

Motivational guru Tony Robbins made these statements last year: Disney was started in a depression and CNN was started in a recession. This financial situation will make people better managers of their money because have been forced into watching their dollars.  Do what you’re passionate about. Think creatively. Think out-of-the-box. Besides all that, I know our God can make a way for you even in this economy!

I’ve reinvented myself several times over the last thirty years. I’ve worked in radio and TV, worked in healthcare in three different positions, taught school, and now I’m an author. It is possible to take what you have learned and repackage it. That’s a good thing to do because of the economy but also it’s a wonderful thing for you! Doing something new will cause you to grow. It will also increase your faith as you see God take you new places.

Singer Alvin Slaughter has a new book out entitled “Reinvent Your Life- Rediscover the fire of your faith — get your power back!” This new book may be just the encouragement you need today.

The description from the Web store says: REINVENT YOUR LIFE is not a book on self confidence, but God confidence. It’s a book about learning to make the right choices. It’s about facing the giants in your life. It’s about knowing what’s right for you and knowing what may be holding you back from knowing God’s will for your life. This amazing story will equip you with hope and courage as you seek to overcome your own life challenges.

God can help you today with any challenge you face. His power, love, and mercy is endless. No burden is too big for Him to handle! Put your trust in Him today.

~Very soon, I’ll ask you–Which is the best photo of me for my new Web site!

Have a great week.

God Bless You!
